Following on from last year’s much loved State Of Play EP, London house producer Medlar reinterprets two of the highlights from this unique project with Afrobeat Ambassador Dele Sosimi with new mixes aimed firmly at the dance floor. The result is two hypnotic, groove-based deep house versions for the early hours.
The All About The Dance remix features some new psychedelic synth workings from Dele, whilst the Lord Have Mercy update gives centre stage to Tamar Osborn's winding saxophone solo, underpinned by Detroit inspired synth chords and skippy drums. Both mixes have been inspired by the duo's move to a more club-driven DJ & keys hybrid/live show in recent times, so expect to hear some exclusive versions, alongside many others, in their sets going forward.

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
